Summon 2.0 Feedback Needed

We have to switch to Summon 2.0 by August, so I want to spend some time test driving the new interface and gathering feedback to see how this will change we teach and train students.

You can access our new Summon interface at http://gvsu.preview.summon.serialssolutions.com.

Play with the new interface. Then, come to one of the feedback sessions Jeff and I are holding. Tell us what you like and what you don’t. Let’s look at issues and problems. We’ll pass feedback along to Serials Solutions, but we’ll also know about some of the peccadillos before we throw the switch so we can better prepare our patrons.

Dates and Times (You should have received an Outlook invite already):

  • Allendale:
    • Friday, March 14 at 2pm in the Dean’s Conference Room (LIB 440)
    • Monday, March 31 at 11am in the Dean’s Conference Room (LIB 440)
  • Downtown:
    • Wednesday, March 26 at 11am in the Steelcase Conference Room

This month we’ll also start using the Summon 2.0 interface in our usability tests. And for fun and to make comparing book searches easier, I’ve updated my goofy tool Summon versus OPAC to give you the option of testing the catalog and Summon 2.0 at the same time.
